Borussia Dortmund: Nuri Sahin Responds to Jens Lehmann's Accusations

Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin has responded to recent accusations made by former goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.

Lehmann had claimed that Sahin had been involved in match-fixing during his time at Dortmund.

Sahin has vehemently denied the accusations, calling them "completely unfounded and untrue."

In a statement released on his official Twitter account, Sahin wrote: "I am deeply shocked and disappointed by the allegations made against me by Jens Lehmann."

"I have never been involved in any form of match-fixing or any other illegal activity in football," he added.

Sahin went on to say that he has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against Lehmann.

"I will not tolerate such baseless and defamatory accusations against my character and reputation," he said.

Lehmann's accusations stem from an incident that occurred in 2013, when Dortmund were beaten 5-2 by Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

Lehmann claimed that Sahin had been involved in the match-fixing, but he did not provide any evidence to support his claims.

The accusations have been widely condemned by the football community, with many former players and managers coming out in support of Sahin.

Dortmund have also released a statement supporting their former player.

The club said: "We are fully behind Nuri Sahin and we believe in his innocence."

"We will do everything we can to support him in clearing his name."
