Deadly Crash in Upstate New York Kills Three
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Accident
Three people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in upstate New York on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The accident occurred on State Route 12 in the town of Boonville, which is located in Oneida County. The victims were identified as 23-year-old John Doe of Constableville, New York; 25-year-old Jane Doe of Rome, New York; and 27-year-old Richard Roe of Boonville, New York.
Investigation Ongoing
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the New York State Police. According to preliminary reports, a car driven by John Doe was traveling eastbound on State Route 12 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an SUV driven by Jane Doe. Richard Roe was a passenger in Jane Doe's SUV.
All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The New York State Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them with any information they may have.
Deadly Year on New York Roads
This accident is the latest in a string of deadly crashes on New York roads this year. According to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, there have been 1,000 fatal crashes in the state so far in 2023, compared to 900 fatal crashes during the same period in 2022.
