Match report from the Youth League: Liverpool beat Bayer Leverkusen 4:1
A commanding performance from the young Reds saw them secure a comfortable victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday.
Goals from Oakley Cannonier, Melkamu Frauendorf, Max Woltman and Luke Chambers fired Liverpool to a 4-1 victory at the AXA Training Centre.
The young Reds took the lead in the 19th minute when Cannonier latched onto a through ball from Frauendorf and fired a low shot past Leverkusen goalkeeper Lennart Grill.
Frauendorf doubled Liverpool's lead just seven minutes later, finishing off a flowing move involving Harvey Elliott and Woltman.
Leverkusen pulled a goal back in the 35th minute through Iker Bravo, but Liverpool restored their two-goal lead just before half-time when Woltman headed home from a corner.
Chambers sealed the victory for Liverpool in the 67th minute, tapping in from close range after a cross from Frauendorf.
The win sees Liverpool move top of Group B with nine points from three games, while Leverkusen remain bottom with zero points.
