Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Rostock central station reopened after bomb threat
Bomb disposal experts searched the scene for suspicious objects but nothing was found
Dozens of trains were canceled and hundreds of passengers were stranded
The main train station in Rostock, Germany, was reopened on Thursday after a bomb threat forced its evacuation and the cancellation of dozens of trains.
Police received a call at around 10:30 a.m. about a possible bomb on a train at the station. The station was evacuated and bomb disposal experts were called in to search the scene.
About 2,500 passengers were evacuated from the station, while 40 trains were canceled and 20 others were delayed, according to Deutsche Bahn, the German railway operator.
The bomb disposal experts searched the station for several hours, but nothing suspicious was found.
The station was reopened at around 4 p.m., and train services resumed.
The police are still investigating the bomb threat.
