Phoenix Point: Legacy of the Ancients delayed into 2024

Snapshot

Snapshot Games has announced that the release of Phoenix Point: Legacy of the Ancients has been delayed until 2024. The highly anticipated tactical RPG, originally scheduled for this year, is now set to launch on April 25, 2024, for PC via Steam, Microsoft Store, GOG, and Epic Games Store.

The Legacy of the Ancients is the sequel to the 2019 game Phoenix Point. The game will feature an improved combat system with new weapons and enemies. It will also introduce a new story campaign and a new class.

Reason for the delay

Snapshot Games cited the COVID-19 pandemic as the primary reason for the delay. While working from home has had some negative effects on productivity, so has the war in Ukraine, where the studio is located.

The studio also said that it wanted to take the extra time to polish the game and make it the best it could be. "We want to make sure that Phoenix Point: Legacy of the Ancients is the best game it can be," said Snapshot Games creative director Julian Gollop. "We think that the extra time will allow us to do just that."

Optimistic Future

Despite the delay, Snapshot Games is still optimistic about the future of Phoenix Point: Legacy of the Ancients. The studio is planning to release a number of updates and expansions for the game in the future.

Snapshot Games is also working on a number of other projects, including a new game called Terra Invicta. Terra Invicta is a grand strategy game about the exploration and colonization of space.
