SK Sturm Graz beat Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Youth League

SK Sturm Graz's U19s caused a minor sensation on Wednesday evening by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the UEFA Youth League. It was the first time a Graz team has beaten a German team in the competition, and it also meant that the young Blackies celebrated their first win in the group stage of the UEFA Youth League ever.
SK Sturm Graz's U19s have made a great start to the UEFA Youth League season. After a goalless draw against Manchester City in their opening match, the young Blackies celebrated their first win in the competition on Wednesday evening. Against Borussia Dortmund, coach Sandro Schied's team showed a strong performance and deservedly won 2-1.
SK Sturm Graz took the lead in the 25th minute through Elias Jantscher. The son of former Sturm professional Mario Jantscher scored with a fine shot from 18 meters. Borussia Dortmund equalized in the 35th minute through Youssoufa Moukoko. However, SK Sturm Graz did not give up and came back just two minutes later through Christoph Lang. The young Blackies defended their lead with a lot of passion and could have even increased it in the final phase.
With the win, SK Sturm Graz moved up to second place in Group G. The young Blackies are now just one point behind Manchester City and have a good chance of reaching the knockout stages. The next match in the UEFA Youth League is scheduled for October 5, when SK Sturm Graz will host FC Copenhagen.
The victory against Borussia Dortmund was a great success for SK Sturm Graz's U19s. The young Blackies showed a strong performance and deservedly won. The victory is also a great advertisement for the SK Sturm Graz youth academy, which is one of the best in Austria.
