Real Madrid crowned champions of Europe once again
Los Blancos secure 14th Champions League title with victory over Liverpool
Real Madrid have been crowned champions of Europe for a record-extending 14th time after defeating Liverpool 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris.
Vinícius Júnior scored the only goal of the game in the 59th minute, finishing off a move that began with a driving run from Federico Valverde.
Liverpool misfortune
Liverpool had the better of the chances in the first half, with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané both going close.
But Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was in inspired form, making a number of key saves to keep his team in the game.
Courtois heroics
Courtois was particularly impressive in the second half, denying Salah from point-blank range and then making a stunning double save to keep out efforts from Mané and Salah.
His heroics ensured that Real Madrid held on for a famous victory, and they will now be able to add another star to their famous crest.
